The CrystalMaker software is meant to be used for educational purposes – for researching and teaching chemistry to be more precise. To achieve this goal, CrystalMaker puts the following functionality at your disposal: build, manipulate, animate crystal and molecular structures. Thanks to CrystalMaker you can more easily understand the structures of crystals and molecules.

CrystalMaker is available for Microsoft’s Windows operating system and for Apple’s Mac OS X. On the Windows front, support is provided for all versions from Windows XP SP3 up to Windows 8; the minimum system requirements for running CrystalMaker on a Windows PC are: at least 1GB of RAM, 100MB of free disk space. And on the Mac front, support is provided for all versions from OS X 10.6 Snow Leopard up to OS X 10.10 Yosemite.

Several structure examples come bundled with CrystalMaker. They are presented down at the bottom on the application’s interface. Select an example from the panel down at the bottom and the main panel will present the example you select. Thanks to these examples you will figure out the interface a bit faster and you will get a quick look at what can be done with CrystalMaker.

CrystalMaker comes with a long list of features: build, manipulate, display, animate various types of crystal and molecular structures; point-and-click molecule building; energy modelling; crystal engineering tools; nanotube creator; comprehensive data import and export; photo-realistic graphics with depth fading and perspective; multi-touch control; and more.

The CrystalMaker demo has limited functionality to offer. Get a license and you will unlock the following: no “demo” version spoilers; save files and preferences; access 800+ structures; export data in various formats; generate high-resolution graphics; save video; share data with CrystalDiffract and SingleCrystal; create self-contained 3D models for iBooks or 3D printing; export rotatable QuickTime Virtual Reality (QTVR) objects; receive free technical support.

CrystalMaker provides a very handy means of building, manipulating, and animating various types of crystal and molecular structures.
